Everything You Should Know about Hair Replacement

Everything You Should Know about Hair Replacement

A look into the types of hair loss and different treatments that is available for hair loss.

For many people losing hair can be an extremely upsetting and disturbing experience. People who suffer from hair loss usually experience forms of anxiety as a result of losing their hair. This is often a very mild feeling of insecurity or may be apparent as a loss of confidence. This is because many people believe that if they lose their hair that people perceive them differently to when they have a full head of hair.

The fact is that in many cases people do have a different perception of someone that has lost their hair but in reality the effect of this is minimal.

Nevertheless the psychological effects of losing hair should not be understated. Both men and women experience a loss of confidence as a result of hair loss and this is because for many their hair is considered a vital part of their sexuality. For both men and women hair is associated with sexuality and those without hair often feel that they are not as sexy as they were with a full head of hair.

It is fair to say that this tends to affect women more often than it affects men. Women are generally less prone to hair loss than men and because there are lots of cases in which men lose their hair it is in some ways more widely accepted in our culture. The negative image of baldness is somewhat surprising when compared to the image of hair loss in primates.

Gorillas actually revere members of their social group that are balding. Indeed gorillas have been found to rub their heads against hard objects in an attempt to reduce the thickness of their hair. This is seen to make them more attractive to the opposite sex. Why is this not always the case with humans?

Causes

One of the main causes of hair loss is as a result of hereditary factors. Male pattern baldness is the most common form of hair loss and there are hundreds of thousands of men that experience this type of hair loss. It is considered a natural form of hair loss and many people decide against a course of action and accept it. Pattern baldness also happens to women but far fewer women suffer this form of hair loss as men.

Another cause of hair loss is trichotillomania. This is a disease in which people that suffer compulsively pull out their own hair. The hair loss that is caused by this disease tends to leave bald on the sufferers head in the areas in which the hair was pulled out. The positive thing about this type of hair loss is that the hair can usually grow back providing the sufferer is able to stop pulling it out. Another form of hair loss that is often experienced is that caused by radiation as a result of treatment for cancer. This type of hair loss can be particularly upsetting but usually clears up after treatment has ended.

Hair replacement techniques

Hair transplant surgery has been around for around one hundred years. In medical terms it is a very young discipline and as a result it has experienced a great number of advancements in recent years. The techniques that are used have been updated and amended throughout the years and as a result refinements in the ways procedures are carried out are happening all the time.

Techniques have developed to the extent where people can have hair replacement surgery and the results can compare to the look of natural hair.

How to? hair System Attachment & Removal

How to? Hair System Attachment & Removal

Because we're all so different, and no two hair systems are exactly alike, attachment and hair replacement bonding may seem confusing at times. After all, you do have a ton of options
Q1: What is the best method to attach my hair system?

There are two main methods that the hair system may be secured for wearing- either by using a temporary method or by semi- permanent attachment method. The temporary method requires bonding the hair piece to your scalp using hair system tape or to your hair using hair system clips. The semi- permanent method requires securing the hair system to your hair along the bald hair line.

Temporary Attachment Method:

Hair piece Tape is the most popular method of securing a hair system. It's fast, convenient, comfortable, and easy to use:
Easy to use: Simply wash the skin with soap and water, dry completely. Peel off the top liner, press into place on the hair unit, then remove the lower liner and apply to the skin with even pressure.
This adhesive strip easily removes with rubbing alcohol and soap and water.

-1"X 108" roll tape

-Pre-cut contour strips

1. You simply remove the protection pattern from one side of the two-sided tape and secure it to the existing tape tab areas on the underside edge of your hair system.2. Remove the remaining protection paper, then position and secured the hair system to your scalp by simply pressing down firmly at the tape areas.

Hair piece Clips are very popular device that may be used for securing a hair piece. However, it's less comfortable than the toupee tape and adhesive methods. Hair piece clips are sewn along the underside edge of the hairpiece at the tape tab areas or where hair exist in order that they may be firmly secured to hair. To secure and remove hair system you simply lift the edge of hair piece and either close or open each clip to secure or remove the hair piece.

-Hair Piece Clip

Liquid Adhesive is another popular attachment method.

How to securing your hairpiece for wearing:
1. Simply brush liquid adhesive along the underside edge of the hair system foundation (at tape- tab areas only)2. Position hair system as desired.3. Press (at tape- tab areas) and hold hair system in place for 1 or 2 minutes(until adhesive bonds firmly to scalp)

Ultra Hold Plus

How to remove your hairpiece:

1. Simply spay or brush adhesive solvent where adhesive is applied.2. Wait several seconds (until adhesive softens) and remove hair piece.
Lace Release

Hard Bond Remover

Semi- Permanent Method:

Semi- Permanent of attaching a hair system is now very popular thanks to calculating hair salons and clubs. You must wear your hair system while sleeping, during showers, and while swimming or enjoying your favorite sports, you also must have the hair system removed, reattached every 4 or 5 weeks. The cleaner- glue preparation, used to secure the hair system to your hair, greatly accelerates hair loss along the balding hair line where the hair system is attached.
1. A plastic thread is weaved into your hair-along your bald hair line.2. A special glue is applied to the hair and thread.3. The hair system is positioned on to your head.4. The hair system is sewn to the cleaner- glue preparation to secure it in place.
